I’m finishing my Master’s degree in bioengineering in forest and natural area management, specialising in tropical ecosystems, and I went to Senegal to do my end-of-study work placement with ULB-Coopération. My placement was part of a project to develop the beekeeping sector on the outskirts of the Niokolo Koba National Park. I spent just over two months there and had the opportunity to do both fieldwork and data analysis, which was exactly what I was looking for. As well as the professional experience I gained, this placement also made me grow as a person because I was constantly outside my comfort zone.

Thank you to ULB-Coopération Sénégal for allowing me to do my internship. I can’t wait to go back.
